29% of the 1,300 people who use the food bank are children

Volunteers and staff prepare food baskets in various sizes for families and individuals in need. They also prepare boxes and deliver to people who can’t come to the food bank.

The food bank is open Monday and Thursday afternoons from 1:30pm to 3:30pm (except the first week of each month when it is closed), The last Thursday of the month, the food bank remains open until 6pm. This food bank is open all year long for residents of Point St-Charles, Verdun, Little Burgundy, Ville-Émard, St-Henri and may come twice a month.

Donations of non-perishable food items are always appreciated, especially those containing vegetables, fruits and protein sources. Tuna, eggs and milk products are also welcome provided we have room in our fridge.

Food Drives are organized several times a year. At Christmas, boxes are distributed throughout the island of Montreal in hundreds of locations. Community members are then invited to contribute to the Drive by giving non-perishable food items to the Share the Warmth food bank. These boxes keep the food bank going for many months each year.
