“I was humbled this fund carries my name, and hope you will join me in supporting its growth. The more we can raise, the more children we can help! My initial idea with this fund was to help students graduating high school. Meetings with educators and social workers made it clear that there is a critical need for students entering high school. Even in a government funded society, there is a sizable population who cannot afford to support their children with the basic tools they need to complete their high school studies. Some parents are forced to make choices that disadvantage their children. The high school drop out rate in certain areas is too high, continuing the cycle of poverty and social assistance.
Together we can change the future for some of these children. I am very cognisant that I have lived a gifted life, and I have always believed that we must do whatever we can to make a difference.” – Sam Pelc
